At Ongar Place School we promote and teach a set of values to the children that will support them in their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
Our Ongar Values were originally selected by the children and are now woven into teaching and learning throughout the curriculum. They improve the children’s social and emotional skills, impact positively on behaviour and equip them to be thoughtful, caring and active citizens of the future.
Each half term a ‘Values’ assemblies introduce the new value and explore it through story, song and activity. Teachers also explicitly teach the values (and reflect on past values) in PSHE lessons.
